Currently a children's librarian aspiring to the reference dept... but my deep down dream? I've been playing/thinking/developing/researching the idea of opening an "alternative library."

Wayne State University

United States
About Me:
I finished my bachelors with honors in Elementary Education focusing on English/Literature in 2006 and am looking forward to starting my MLIS at WSU this fall. I thought I'd be teaching for a while before getting into librarianship, but life happens! Now I'm trying to find my place in the library world.
Where do you see the future of librarians?
As the guardians of history, information, and knowledge, I see librarians in a positive and growing place where we have become the #1 reference point for everyone, regardless of economic status or background. We'll create a world where traditional books with paper pages between covers happily cohabitate with digital mediums.
